Amputation claims

Serious injuries leading to amputation are life changing. At Admiral Law we pride ourselves on not only being able to secure you the best financial settlement, but being at your side throughout your rehabilitation and recovery.

We are signatories to the Serious Injuries Guide which means that in most cases we will be able to secure a rehabilitation package in the early stages of your claim. We work with a network of rehabilitation providers to ensure that the support you need is in place throughout your claim. As your recovery progresses, our specialist team will support you in your return to work, be that in the same job, or investigating other options.

Regaining independence is essential. We will always be led by you – it is your life and we will help you get it back. Our serious injury team have a breadth of knowledge and experience in arranging multi-disciplinary consultations to ensure that you have the support that you need, the most appropriate experts and best possible representation at every stage of your case. While no area of a claim is overlooked, we would expect to see a need for:

  • Vocational rehabilitation (to support your return to work)
  • Occupational therapy intervention
  • Prosthesis
  • Care & Support at home and in the community
  • Orthopaedic & Psychological intervention

Amputations are complex and their outcome can be uncertain and financial worries are inevitably a concern.  We work tirelessly to secure early interim payments to minimise any financial worries so you can focus on your recovery, including helping you secure an alternative property should one be required, so that your future is secure.

How to make a claim

If you have been involved in an accident that is not your fault and have suffered injuries as a result please contact us as soon as possible. Claims for personal injury arising out of accidents which take place in England and Wales are subject to a three year limitation period. We can arrange a convenient time for one of our skilled and experienced team members to contact you. We aim to make your claim for personal injury as straightforward and stress free as possible. We will always explain the steps involved in pursuing a claim for compensation.

Why choose us?

At Admiral Law we have years of experience of dealing with serious accidents from which there have been life changing injuries, significant long-term impairment and restriction at home and in work.

Our focus is to ensure you receive the optimum rehabilitation at the earliest opportunity. Through the involvement of industry recognised rehabilitation providers, therapists, support workers and medical experts providing nation-wide coverage, our team will ensure that every aspect of your injuries are considered and a bespoke rehabilitation package implemented via third party funding.

As signatories to the Serious Injuries Guide, along with most major insurers in the UK, we will look to implement a rehabilitation program even before an admission of fault.

How will my claim be funded?

You may have legal expenses insurance attached to your car or home insurance policy. We can make enquiries to see if any such legal expense insurance exists and can be used to fund your claim. If you do not have existing legal expenses insurance we can enter into a Conditional Fee Agreement and a bespoke policy of after the event legal expenses insurance. Under the terms of a conditional fee agreement, you may be charged a fee for our services.

How long will my claim take?

We aim to conclude your claim as soon as is possible. The length of time this takes depends very much on the severity of the injury and the duration of your recovery and importantly the willingness of the defendant to accept fault.

It is important that we ensure that you are recovered completely or have a final prognosis for your future in order to calculate any resulting losses before attempting to settle your claim.

How much compensation will I receive?

The consequences of the injuries or illnesses will vary between individuals. The amount of compensation you could receive will be personal to you and depend upon a number of factors such as the severity of the injury, extent of any continuing symptoms and the level of impact on ability to work.

Our personal injury solicitors are experienced in accurately valuing claims to ensure you get the compensation you deserve.
